What type of sailcloth do you use in your bags?

We use premium Dacron® sailcloth custom-woven in the USA.

What is Dacron®?

Dacron® is the brand name for man-made polyester fiber. Its properties include a high strength-to-weight ratio, high resistance to stretching (when wet and dry) and resistance to degradation by sunlight. For over 50 years, Dacron® has been used in sailmaking and is now considered by many to be the "classic" sailcloth.

Is the Dacron® sailcloth in your bags new or recycled?

New! We never use Dacron® sailcloth that is recycled or refurbished.

Where are your bags made?

We take great pride in saying that our bags are made here in the United States.

Are your bags water resistant?

Yes. Our bags are water resistant, but not waterproof.

What is the best way to wash and dry your bags?

We suggest spot treating with a mild detergent and cold water. Do not use bleach. Hang to dry.

 

ORDERING FAQ's

Can I exchange or return an item?

Yes. All unused merchandise can be returned or exchanged for up to 30 days from the receipt of shipment excluding custom items. Please view the Returns page for additional information.

Can I change or cancel my order after its been submitted?

Yes. As long as we have not shipped your order, you can request a change or cancel your order entirely. Please contact us immediately with the complete details regarding the information that you would like to correct or change. If you choose to send an email, please be sure to include your name, address, and order confirmation number along with details on the information that you would like to correct or change. When we have made the change on your order, we will send you an email confirmation. If we are unable to change or cancel your order, we will notify you via email.

How can I make sure I receive an order confirmation from you?

Some email providers utilize strict junk email (spam) filters which block auto-generated email like the one we send to confirm your order. If you use one of these email providers and you do not see a True Wind confirmation email within 20 minutes, please check your junk email (spam) folder.

I lost my original packing slip. What information do you need for my return?

If you've lost your packing slip, please contact us for assistance. We will search for your order and give you the information that you will need to include with your return, including your order number. Please view the Returns page for additional information.

How do I redeem a promotional code?

Once you've selected your item(s) for purchase and added them to your Shopping Cart, you can begin the Checkout process. During the Checkout process, you will be asked to supply the promotional code PIN number. Enter the PIN number where requested and complete the Checkout process.

Do you offer discounts on volume orders?

Yes. We offer discounts based on the total dollar value of the order. Please contact us for additional information.

Can your bags be custom ordered?

The minimum order to embroider a company logo is twelve items. The minimum order to monogram a person's name or initials, boat name, etc., is one item. Please contact us for additional information.

How much does it cost to custom embroider an item?

Embroidery costs depend upon the size, color and complexity of the artwork to be embroidered. All custom orders consist of an artwork digitization fee, set-up fee and per item application fee. Please contact us for additional information.

 

PAYMENT FAQ's

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, corporate checks and wire transfers. We do not accept cash, personal checks, C.O.D., money orders or travelers checks.

When is my credit card charged for my order?

Your credit card is charged when your order is shipped. If multiple shipments are required to fulfill your order, you will be billed as the items are shipped.

Will I be charged sales tax?

We are required to collect applicable sales tax for orders that are placed in the State of New York.

Does True Wind guarantee that my credit card information will be secure?

Yes. True Wind uses the industry standard encryption protocol known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to keep your order information secure.

We have established a Secure Shopping Guarantee for every transaction that you make with True Wind. Should any unauthorized charges appear on your credit card as a result of shopping with www.truewind.com, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

True Wind will cover the liability of purchases made through this website only if the unauthorized use of your credit card resulted through no fault of your own. If your bank holds you responsible for fraudulent charges, we will cover your liability up to $50.00.

What should I do if I believe credit card fraud has resulted from an order I placed on truewind.com?

If you suspect that there are unauthorized charges on your credit card, immediately notify your credit card provider immediately. Then please contact us. We will investigate your claim and work with your credit card company to resolve the claim as quickly as possible.

 

SHIPPING FAQ's

What shipping methods are available?

Domestic U.S. customers can choose between: UPS® Next Day Air, UPS® 2-Day Air and UPS® Ground. International customers can choose between USPS® Global Express Guaranteed and USPS® Express Mail International (EMS.) Regardless of the shipping method you choose, please note that we cannot deliver to a P.O. Box.

How do you calculate shipping costs?

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight of the item(s) in your order and the method of shipping used. Shipping charges will be automatically calculated during the Checkout process.

How quickly will my order be processed?

Regular orders are processed within 1-2 business days. Custom orders are typically processed within 7-14 business days.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes. We can ship items to more than one address, but unfortunately we cannot do so online within a single order. If you would like to place an order with multiple delivery addresses, you can enter separate orders on our website, or contact us for assistance.

Do you ship to international addresses?

Yes. We ship to international addresses. Please note, we are not responsible for any international custom charges, duties or taxes and cannot determine in advance what these charges will be. For more information, please contact your local customs office.

What does the term "True Wind" mean?

True Wind is a sailing term which refers to the direction of the wind as observed from a stationary position, as opposed to the relative wind or apparent wind of a moving object, such as a boat.
